Holiday Cottages in Staithes
If you have little ones in tow, let them know that Staithes in North Yorkshire is where CBeebies Old Jack’s Boat is filmed. Before you know it, a Staithes self catering cottage will be booked and games of ‘I spy Salty the dog’ will certainly ensue.
Wide sandy beaches are amongst the main attractions of North Yorkshire and Staithes beach and Runswick Bay, just further south, don’t disappoint. Take a picnic, or grab some fish and chips and enjoy a traditional day out by the seaside. If you want to be more adventurous pick up The Cleveland Trail which heads from Runswick Bay down to Sandsend and through to Kettleness.
But there is really no need to leave Staithes. For a while at least. Staithes used to be a busy fishing village and some boats can still be seen heading out to capture nets full of cod, crab and lobster. Some of which you can sample at the Cod & Lobster pub which is located on the high street. Staithes Gallery is a great place to browse local art and perhaps pick up a memento of your stay.
We also have dog friendly cottages in Staithes so bring your dog, pack your walking boots and start to plan your North Yorkshire break today!
