Holiday Cottages in South Creake
Our South Creake holiday cottages enjoy a blissful setting in this once wealthy village and now peaceful 21st century haven. Past Fakenham as you head towards the Norfolk coast and Burnhams, South Creake village appears to have grown up around the village green through which the river Burn runs and to where the community is drawn for play.
On the outskirts of South Creake rises Bloodgate Hill Hillfort. This is Norfolk’s largest hillfort and is thought to pre-date Roman settlement. The splash of grand and period buildings in South Creake hint at its prominent past yet only earthworks remain of the manor house gifted by William the Conqueror to his chancellor William de Beaufoe. And while its medieval church was rebuilt to celebrate Agincourt only one of the village’s original seven pubs still pours a pint.
A self catering cottage in South Creake promises a step back in time and a very warm welcome from your doorstep.
