Holiday Cottages in Richmond
Base yourself in a Richmond holiday rental and get ready to explore the wonderful surrounds of this market town and wider North Yorkshire further afield. If your holiday accommodation is at the heart of the town you won’t fail to notice the regal ruins of Richmond Castle. Make this your first stop as you familiarise yourself with the area.
Although Richmond Castle is in ruins it’s most definitely worth a visit. One of the greatest Norman fortresses in Britain, make time to climb to the top of the tower to see what all the fuss is about. You won’t be disappointed with the views which go for miles. There’s an interactive display for the kids and the whole attraction (apart from the exhibition) is also dog friendly.
No doubt a holiday in Richmond will involve roaming the Yorkshire Dales, but sporting enthusiasts note the attraction of neighbouring Catterick. Catterick Racecourse is a popular day out and one of the homes of the Northern racing scene. Ladies Day in August is colourful and the Yorkshire Beer Festival race day in September offers the chance to watch the racing and sample 12 different Pennine Brewery ales and ciders. Bottoms up!
Self catering accommodation in Richmond truly offers a variety of different holidays from your doorstep. Be it walking, cultural, shopping or sporting all of your desires will be met – and you can take the dog too!
