Holiday Cottages in Portuairk
Sanna Bay sweeps around almost semi circular and on its northern facing edge is the pretty village of Portuairk. This sandy haven would be teaming with people a few hundred miles south, but here, whatever the time of year, you’ll have acres of sand all to yourselves. Portuairk holiday cottages are highly sought after but few and far between. The unspoilt nature of this spectacular spot remains much as it has done for centuries past due to its small population and limited guest accommodation.
Portuairk is Britain’s most westerly village. Thought to be the last of the crofting settlements, its rugged shoreline and challenging hills won’t have been for the faint hearted sheep or shepherd. As a beach holiday in Scotland you’ll find it tranquil, uncluttered and incredibly effective at quickly achieving switch-off. It imbues slow travel and there’s little choice but to go with the flow. Get off-grid and see for yourself in one of our Portuairk holiday homes.
